Servings: 4
- 4 pounds chicken wings fresh or thawed
- 2 large lemons juiced
- 2 tablespoons lemon zest
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- Lemon pepper seasoning to add when basting
- Fresh chopped parsley for garnish
Place the wings straight into your slow cooker.
Pour over the lemon juice and zest, then add the butter, salt, pepper, and a pinch of paprika for a little warmth.
Pop the lid on and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours, until the wings are fall-apart tender and cooked through (165°F internal temp is your goal).
Once the wings are ready, fire up the broiler and line a rimmed baking sheet with foil. Give it a good spray of cooking oil (or brush with butter) to help prevent sticking.
Transfer the wings to the sheet and brush them with that lemony, buttery goodness left in the slow cooker. Sprinkle over some lemon pepper seasoning on both sides.
Broil for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway, until the skin is golden and a little crispy around the edges.
Garnish with fresh parsley and a few lemon slices, and serve with your favorite dip—ranch or lemon aioli both work perfectly.
