Servings: 8
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 onion diced
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 ½ tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin

- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1-2 teaspoons white sugar or to taste

In a large Dutch oven over medium heat, sauté the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the beef is browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, dried oregano, garlic powder, cayenne, sugar, salt, and pepper.
Bring the chili to a boil. Once it starts bubbling, turn the heat down and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until it thickens.
