Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries
These crispy sweet potato fries are the ultimate easy side dish! Baked to perfection in the air fryer, they’re fluffy, crisp, and seasoned with a simple seasoning mix that makes them so wonderfully more-ish. Best of all, they’re quick and easy to prepare – they take just 30-35 minutes to make from scratch, and you’ll need just a handful of ingredients, including sweet potatoes, olive oil, and seasonings. I love serving them alongside burgers, pizzas, and tacos, and they also make a fabulous healthy snack!

Ingredients
- Sweet potatoes

Step-by-Step Guide To Making These Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries
At the bottom of this post, I’ve included a printable recipe card with full details on ingredients, measurements, and instructions, and you’re very welcome to print it off at home and add it to your own personal recipe folder so you can make these fries again and again without having to hunt down the recipe every time! In this section here, I’m going to walk you through the process with some handy snaps to demonstrate each step…
1. Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut them into thin, uniform strips.

2. Place the sweet potato strips in a large bowl and add the olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, dry dill and paprika. Toss until the sweet potatoes are evenly coated.

3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3-5 minutes, if necessary for your appliance (see tips and tricks section for more about this!)
4. Divide the seasoned sweet potato strips into batches and place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer, without overcrowding.

5. Cook the sweet potato fries in the air fryer for 12-15 minutes per batch, shaking or flipping halfway through cooking, until they are crispy and golden brown.

6. Repeat with the remaining batches of sweet potato fries.
7. Serve the sweet potato fries hot, with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!

Tips & Tricks for Making The Best Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries
1. Check Your Air Fryer’s Manual for Preheating
- Some air fryers require preheating, while others don’t. Check your manual to see what’s recommended for your model.
2. Don’t Overcrowd the Basket
- Give the fries space! Overcrowding leads to steaming instead of crisping, resulting in soft, limp fries.
- Arrange the fries in a single layer with a little space between them to allow hot air to circulate properly.
- If making a large batch, cook in multiple batches for best results.
3. Cut Evenly for Perfect Cooking
- Aim for ¼-inch thick fries for the best crispiness-to-softness ratio.
- Unevenly cut fries will cook at different rates, leading to some being overcooked while others remain undercooked.
