I’m Violet Parker, a home cook, food lover, and recipe developer, and I created this website for people just like you. 

I’ve been a professional food writer for over 15 years, creating content for a wide variety of print and online publications. 

I started Slimming Violet back in 2018 as a passion project, and as a way of documenting my favourite recipes and adventures in the kitchen. 

Slowly but surely, the site started to grow a dedicated following, and now hundreds of thousands of people from all around the world visit here every month for mealtime inspiration and cookery how-to! 

I work on Slimming Violet full time, with a little help from a close-knit team of experts, from my test kitchen and office studio. 

I love both the science and art of cooking, how the two blend together to create meals that *just work*, and good food is my passion, my purpose, and my all-time favourite thing to share with others. 

I’m also a wife, mother of daughters, and dog owner.

When I’m not working on Slimming Violet, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, visiting local restaurants, and enjoying a glass of good wine.
