Big Mac Sliders
I created these Big Mac sliders specifically with game days in mind, and I think you’ll agree that they’re the perfect bites for when you’re serving a crowd and you need something that’s easy to prep but is guaranteed to earn you a whole load of compliments! They’ve got layers of juicy ground beef, melted American cheese, tangy pickles, and that famous Big Mac-style sauce, all tucked inside buttery sesame-topped Hawaiian rolls.
They’re baked until warm and gooey, then finished with fresh lettuce and that creamy, tangy sauce that ties it all together. These feel special enough for hosting but easy enough to throw together for a weeknight dinner or last-minute game day spread.

Don’t lose this one! You’ll find a printable recipe card with all the details at the bottom of this post. Save it to your game day recipe folder or print a copy to keep handy, because once you make these Big Mac Sliders, they’re going to be a regular request.
-
Ground beef – Use lean ground beef so the sliders don’t get greasy, but still juicy. Brown it up with salt and pepper for that classic burger base.
-
Salt & pepper – Simple seasoning that brings out the flavor in the beef.
-
Hawaiian rolls – The perfect slider bun: soft, buttery, and easy to slice as one big sheet.
-
American cheese – Melty, creamy, and nostalgic — just like a real Big Mac.
-
White onion – Adds a bit of crunch and that signature Big Mac bite.
-
Butter (melted) – Brushed over the tops for a golden, glossy finish.
-
Sesame seeds – The finishing touch that makes them look like mini Big Macs.
-
Mayonnaise, mustard & vinegar – The creamy, tangy base of your homemade Big Mac sauce.
-
Pickled relish – Adds that sweet and tangy pickle flavor in the sauce.
-
Onion powder, garlic powder & paprika – Rounds out the flavor of the Big Mac sauce with a touch of savory warmth.
-
Shredded iceberg lettuce – For a crisp, fresh layer that balances out the richness.
-
Sliced dill pickles – No Big Mac is complete without them — they add the perfect tangy crunch.

How To Make Big Mac Sliders
- Cook the beef: Add the ground beef to a large skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks, until it’s browned and cooked through. While that’s happening, preheat your oven to 350°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

- Assemble the sliders: Keep the slider rolls connected and slice them in half horizontally. Set the tops aside for now and place the bottom half on your prepared baking sheet. Layer the cheese slices over the buns, then spread the cooked beef evenly on top. Sprinkle diced onion all over for that classic Big Mac flavor.

- Toast the buns: Place the top buns back on and brush them with melted butter. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top, then bake for about 12 minutes — just until the tops are golden and a little toasty.

- Make the Big Mac sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, pickle relish, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika. Stir until smooth and creamy.

- Add the toppings: Once the sliders are baked, carefully lift off the top buns and set them aside. Sprinkle shredded lettuce over the onions, drizzle the Big Mac sauce generously across the top, and add a couple of pickle slices to each slider. Replace the top buns, slice them up, and dig in!

Storage & Reheating Tips
-
Store: Keep leftover sliders in an airtight container in the fridge for 2–3 days.
-
Reheat: Pop them in the oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes, or just until warmed through and the cheese gets melty again. You can also reheat a few at a time in the microwave for a quick snack (just expect the buns to be a little softer).
These reheat beautifully, so they’re perfect for next-day lunches or another round of game day snacking.

Substitutions & Variations
-
Protein swaps: Try ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version, or even plant-based crumbles for a vegetarian twist.
-
Cheese options: American cheese gives that true Big Mac flavor, but cheddar, Colby Jack, or pepper jack work great too.
-
Rolls: Hawaiian rolls are soft and slightly sweet, but any slider buns or dinner rolls will do the job.
-
Toppings: Add crispy bacon, caramelized onions, or even jalapeños for a little extra flair.
-
Sauce: Make it spicy with a dash of hot sauce or sriracha in your Big Mac sauce, or swap it for Thousand Island dressing in a pinch.
-
Mini burger vibe: Want that “grilled burger” flavor? Mix a splash of Worcestershire sauce into the beef before cooking.

Serving Ideas
These Big Mac sliders are made for sharing, whether it’s game day, movie night, or a laid-back weekend hangout. Here are some of my favorite ways to serve them up:
-
Party platter style: Serve them straight from the baking sheet or on a wooden board lined with lettuce leaves for that diner-style look.
-
Add sides: Pair with fries, onion rings, tater tots, or even a simple green salad if you’re pretending to be balanced.
-
Dipping station: Set out ketchup, extra Big Mac sauce, or spicy mayo for dunking — because everyone loves extra sauce.
-
Game day upgrade: Keep a second batch ready to pop in the oven — these go fast once people get a taste.
-
Mini meal idea: Serve with mini milkshakes or cold beers for the ultimate retro burger-night vibe.
