If you’re ready to print off your PDF, you can scroll straight down to the link with full instructions at the bottom of this post. I recommend that you don’t skip the next few sections though, as I’m going to explain more about how to get the most out of your bucket list!

What’s on the Fall Foodie Bucket List?
This list includes a little bit of everything, from simple pleasures to bigger kitchen projects. Some ideas are super easy and require almost no prep (like making a cozy fall latte). Others, like roasting a whole turkey or baking a pie from scratch, might take a bit more time and planning, but they’re worth every cozy second.
I’ve tried to focus on seasonal ingredients wherever possible—think apples, pumpkins, cinnamon, and all those comforting fall flavors that make this time of year feel extra special. Whether you’re cooking for yourself, your family, or just want to try something new on a slow weekend, there’s something here for everyone.
Most of the items are pretty self-explanatory, and I’ve purposely designed it to be that way! You can pick and choose what works for you, skip what doesn’t, and put your own creative spin on the rest.
But if you do need a little extra inspiration to get started, I’ve broken down a few of the ideas from the list below to help spark your imagination…
Create a Fall Charcuterie Board
A fall-inspired charcuterie board is the ultimate way to snack in style. It’s equal parts cozy, crowd-pleasing, and Pinterest-worthy—and you can go as simple or as over-the-top as you like. Whether you’re hosting friends or just want a fun Friday night dinner alternative, this is such a fun way to showcase the best flavors of the season.
What to Include:
Focus on warm, earthy flavors and seasonal produce. Here are some ideas to get you started:
-
Cheeses: Aged cheddar, brie, gouda, goat cheese with herbs or honey
-
Meats: Prosciutto, salami, smoked turkey slices
-
Fruits: Apple slices, pears, figs, grapes, dried cranberries
-
Extras: Roasted nuts, pumpkin seeds, spiced pecans, candied walnuts
-
Savory touches: Olives, pickles, whole grain mustard
-
Sweet additions: Dark chocolate squares, mini caramel cups, fig jam, apple butter
-
Carbs: Crackers, crostini, and maybe even slices of warm baguette
Optional Add-On: A Cozy Drink Pairing:
Try it with a glass of apple cider (hot or cold), mulled wine, or even a pumpkin beer for the full fall effect.
Style it all on a wooden board or large plate, add a few decorative touches like mini pumpkins, cinnamon sticks, or autumn leaves, and you’ve got a feast that feels just as festive as it tastes.
Cook a Classic Roast Turkey Dinner
This one’s a project, but in the best kind of way. Roasting a turkey might sound like something reserved for Thanksgiving, but it’s a fantastic fall weekend challenge if you’re looking to sharpen your kitchen skills and create a meal that feels like a celebration.
You can keep it simple—season your turkey well, roast it to golden perfection, and serve with a few cozy sides. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can go all out: brine the bird ahead of time, make your own gravy from the pan drippings, and even try a homemade cranberry or apple cider sauce to pair with the meat.
Pro Tip: Make a Plan:
The key to a stress-free roast turkey dinner is planning. Before you start, sketch out a rough timeline:
-
When will you defrost or prep the turkey?
-
What time do you want to eat?
-
Which sides need to go in the oven—and when?
Even a loose schedule makes a huge difference when you’re juggling multiple dishes at once.
Seasonal Side Dishes to Try:
-
Roasted butternut squash with sage
-
Garlic mashed potatoes
-
Maple-glazed carrots
-
Brussels sprouts with bacon or balsamic
-
Classic stuffing (or a sourdough + apple variation)
-
Homemade cranberry sauce or apple compote
-
Fluffy dinner rolls or cornbread
Try Different Fall Soups
Few things say ‘fall’ like a big pot of soup simmering on the stove while the leaves swirl outside. This is the season for hearty, nourishing bowls full of seasonal ingredients. Think root veggies, squash, warming spices, and creamy textures.
You can keep it rustic and simple, or layer in flavors with herbs, roasted garlic, or a splash of cream. I like to think of fall soup-making as equal parts comfort and strategy: it’s cozy in the moment, and savvy in the long run (hello, freezer lunches!).
Favorite Fall Soups to Try:
-
Butternut squash + apple soup – sweet, velvety, and perfect with a swirl of cream or coconut milk
-
Creamy mushroom and wild rice soup – hearty and earthy, with thyme and a touch of garlic
-
Pumpkin soup with sage and brown butter – rich and fragrant, ideal with crusty bread
-
Carrot ginger soup – bright and warming, especially with a little chili kick
-
Classic chicken noodle with fall herbs – always comforting, especially on chilly days
-
Lentil + sweet potato soup – budget-friendly, filling, and full of fiber
Soup Saver Tip:
Make a double batch and freeze the extra in individual containers. You’ll thank yourself later when lunch is just a quick reheat away. Most soups freeze beautifully, and some (like chili or bean-based recipes) even taste better after a day or two.
How to Use Your Fall Foodie Bucket List
There’s no right or wrong way to work through this list—it’s not about checking every box perfectly. It’s about finding small ways to enjoy the season through food, whether that means trying something new, revisiting a favorite, or just slowing down enough to savor what’s already on your plate.
Here are a few ideas for how to make the most of it:
-
Print it out and hang it up somewhere visible—your fridge, your pantry door, your planner.
-
Highlight or circle the ideas you’re most excited about, or jot in your own foodie goals.
-
Pick one item each weekend to turn into a mini ritual—like a Friday night homemade cocktail or a cozy Sunday soup session.
-
Use it as a meal planning tool: base your weekly meals around a few of the ideas to keep things seasonal and fun.
-
Do it with friends or family! Invite someone over to try a new recipe with you, or swap baked goods and seasonal snacks.
Whether you tick off every idea or just a few, this list is meant to add a little extra joy (and flavor) to your fall.
