KFC Chicken Fakeaway | Slimming World
When it comes to the actual recipe and method that KFC use to create their delicious Southern fried chicken, your guess is as good as mine.
It’s not actually available to the public and is the fast food chain’s most closely guarded secret. So whilst you’ll find plenty of speculation and theories online, I’m willing to hazard a guess on a couple of things…
Firstly, most of them are inevitably incorrect.
And even if we did know the so-called secrets, they most definitely wouldn’t produce a meal that’s slimming friendly in any way, shape, or form.
If I may be as audacious to say though, I think that this Slimming World KFC chicken fakeaway recipe that I’m sharing here will delight even the most passionate of fried chicken eaters.
It’s got all that lovely Southern flavour, but thanks to the ingredients – and the fact that it’s oven baked instead of fried – you can quite easily incorporate it into almost any diet or healthy lifestyle that you might be following.

Spicentice seasoning for the perfect Southern style chicken
As is often the case when it comes to creating authentic fakeaway recipes, one of the key components here is the seasoning and spice that you use.
After all, this isn’t intended to be just any old crispy chicken recipe. We’re trying to recreate that KFC-style taste.
So for this recipe, I really recommend trying out Spicentice’s Southern Fried Chicken Seasoning.
It makes things quick and easy, and it’s just £1.59 per sachet – that’ll serve 4 people, as per the recipe below.
To save 10% on Spicentice orders, use discount code SLIMMINGV10. You’ll also get free shipping if you spend over £20!
How many Syns and calories are in this recipe?
There’s 6 Syns in this KFC style chicken, or 353 calories.
I reckon that’s pretty good value for Syns, and it’s an amount that I’m happy to part with for a meal as satisfying as this one!
You’ll see in the ingredients list that I recommend that you use golden or panko breadcrumbs. You can pick these up in most supermarkets, and they’re what are responsible for the majority of the Syns here.
If you want to cut it down to just 1 Syn, you can make your own breadcrumbs from your Healthy Extra allowance.
Of course, whether you think it’s worth it is down to personal preference – I much prefer the taste and texture of the ready prepared variety!
Do remember that the Syn and calorie counts included here are just for the chicken, so you’ll need to count any accompaniments separately!
How should you serve your KFC chicken fakeaway?
You can’t beat chicken and chips, so a side portion of slimming friendly chips is a great option as a side dish.
This recipe is also perfect with the now infamous Mayflower Southern Style Gravy Mix.
You can pick this up in B&M, Home Bargains, & Heron Foods, as well as online via Amazon.
Some more ideas for side dishes include…
- Corn on the cob
- Salad
- Coleslaw
- Roast potatoes
- Onion rings
- Mashed potato
- Mac & cheese
You could even stuff them into a burger bun or a pitta bread, with plenty of salad and a little light garlic sauce.
One of the things that I love about this Slimming World KFC chicken fakeaway is that it’s super versatile, and you can turn it into so many different kinds of meals.
