Banana Milk (Korean TikTok Inspired Recipe!)
Have you seen the banana milk recipe that’s been going viral recently on TikTok?! Well banana milk was one of my favorite childhood treats, so of course I had to try making my own version at home! It’s inspired by the Korean convenience store classic, and it’s fresh, creamy, and free from the extra stuff you don’t need. (My little girl LOVES this one, which I’m so thrilled about as it’s free from all the additives that you often see in the store-bought bottles).
All it takes is ripe bananas, a few pantry staples, and 30 seconds in the blender to get that smooth, lightly sweet flavor. Think of it as part nostalgic treat, part wholesome snack — the kind of thing you can drink with breakfast, sip in the afternoon, or serve alongside a plate of Korean snacks!
(I can’t resist trying viral recipes, and though lots of them are a bit of a mixed bag, I’ve found some that are definitely worth trying! Be sure to also take a look at my spins on TikTok baked feta pasta, TikTok cottage cheese ground beef bowls, TikTok strawberry jello fluff, and TikTok picklewich).

Ingredients
I know many of you prefer to grab a printable recipe card, and you’ll find one at the bottom of this post! Over the next few sections, I’ll be sharing more about the ingredients, the process, and including extra tips like serving ideas.
-
Ripe bananas – The riper, the better. They’ll give the milk a natural sweetness and stronger banana flavor.
-
Whole milk – Adds richness and creaminess, just like the original Korean treat.
-
Water – Lightens it up so it’s not overly heavy while still keeping it smooth.
-
Real maple syrup – A touch of natural sweetness with a subtle depth of flavor.
-
Vanilla extract – Rounds out the flavor and enhances the banana.

How To Make Korean-Style Banana Milk
- Add the bananas to your blender first, then pour in the rest of the ingredients.

- Blend on medium speed for about 30 seconds, or until smooth and creamy.
- Pour into a glass, sip, and enjoy!

Storage Tips
Store in a sealed jar or airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. I don’t recommend freezing, as the texture changes once thawed. For the freshest flavor and best consistency, enjoy it right after blending.

Recipe Notes
You can swap out the maple syrup for another sweetener if you prefer, but keep in mind that you’ll lose the distinct maple flavor, so the change will be noticeable.
The recipe blends up quite smooth as is, but if you want an ultra-smooth texture, you can strain it through cheesecloth. Personally, I don’t think it’s necessary, but it comes down to preference!
And most importantly, make sure that you use very ripe bananas for the best flavor. Green or still-bright yellow bananas just won’t give you that deep, sweet banana taste that makes this drink so good.
Serving Ideas
I like this best served cold, straight from the fridge!
You can pour it over ice for an extra chill, or blend it with a few ice cubes if you want more of a milkshake vibe.
It pairs wonderfully with a slice of banana bread, or a simple piece of buttered toast.
Or lean into the Korean inspiration and serve it alongside sweet Korean snacks like choco pies, honey butter chips, or mochi for a fun twist.
A light sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg on top is totally optional, but it makes it feel a little extra.
