Christmas Charcuterie Cups

How many times have you found yourself sweating over a complicated appetizer over the holidays while guests are already walking through the door? I’ve done this WAY too many times, and though I really do love hosting, there’s nothing that ruins it quite like biting off way more than you can chew with ridiculously complex recipes that totally ruin all the fun of having loved ones visit.

That’s why I created these Christmas charcuterie cups! They look like you spent all afternoon assembling them, but in reality, they come together in minutes. No stress, no fuss, just festive perfection. Each cup is filled with little bites of cheese, meat, fruit, and crackers (and a sprig of rosemary for a super cute mini Christmas tree touch). They’re perfectly portioned for guests to grab and go, which means no crowding around one big charcuterie board or juggling plates.

Whether you’re hosting a Christmas Eve party, a neighborhood open house, or just want something cute to serve with cocktails, these cups are pure holiday magic made easy. Give them a try this year and let me know what you think of them!

Ingredients

In the next few sections, I’ll be explaining more about the ingredients, the process, and sharing some extra tips. If you prefer to just grab the printable recipe card (I know how busy things can get over the holidays!) then you’ll find one at the bottom of this post.

Salami – The classic charcuterie favorite! Folded and skewered, it adds that savory, meaty bite every snack cup needs.

Cheddar cheese – Use sliced cheddar so you can easily cut out those adorable little stars. They instantly make the cups feel Christmas-ready (and yes, people will comment on how cute they are).

Blackberries – For a juicy, sweet contrast to the salty meats and cheese. Plus, the deep color looks gorgeous in the mix.

Grapes – A little fresh, a little sweet, and perfect for filling out the cups. Red or green both work, or mix them for variety.

Rosemary sprigs – Not just for garnish! They make the cups smell festive and look like tiny edible evergreens.

Club crackers – For crunch and texture. Tuck a couple into each cup for snacking balance.

Gherkins – These mini pickles add a little tang and brightness — they’re small but mighty when it comes to flavor.

You’ll also need charcuterie cups (I like to use a mix of red and green), a star cutter, and cocktail skewers.

How To Make Christmas Charcuterie Cups

  • Start with the greenery: Begin by placing a small sprig of rosemary in each cup — it gives that “mini Christmas tree” vibe and smells amazing too.

  • Make your cheese stars: Use a small star-shaped cutter to punch stars out of your cheese slices.

  • Fold the salami: Fold each piece of salami in half, then in half again, and thread 4–5 pieces onto a skewer. Pop one into each cup for that classic charcuterie touch.

  • Add the cheese + fruit skewer: Skewer a cheese star, then add a couple of blackberries beneath it. This adds a nice pop of color and flavor.
  • Add the pickles: Thread a gherkin onto another skewer and tuck it into the cup — a little tang balances all that richness.
  • Finish with grapes: Add 3 grapes to a skewer and place them in each cup. For a more balanced look, trim the bottom of the skewer so some items sit lower than others — it adds that pretty layered effect.
  • Serve and enjoy: Arrange all the cups on a tray or platter for an instant showstopper at your next holiday gathering.

How To Make These Charcuterie Cups Your Own

One of the best parts about these Christmas charcuterie cups is how easy they are to customize. You can swap in your favorite ingredients, match your color scheme, or build themed versions for different occasions.

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Switch up the cheese: Try pepper jack for a little kick, brie for something creamy, or mini mozzarella balls for an Italian twist.

  • Add something sweet: Toss in a few chocolate-covered pretzels, candied nuts, or festive red and green M&Ms for a dessert-meets-charcuterie vibe.

  • Use different meats: Prosciutto, pepperoni, or even thinly sliced turkey work just as well as salami.

  • Include a dip: Add a small cup of hummus, ranch, or honey mustard inside the serving cup or on the side for a fun surprise.

  • Go festive with the fruit: Add strawberries, pomegranate seeds, or raspberries for more pops of red to match the Christmas theme.

  • Try a New Year’s version: Swap the rosemary for thyme or mint, add sparkly gold toothpicks, and make it feel like a midnight snack upgrade.

Serving Ideas

  • Welcome nibbles: Hand each guest a charcuterie cup with a glass of bubbly or mulled wine when they walk through the door. It’s a classy (and low-effort) way to kick off the night.

  • Party platters: Arrange all the cups on a large tray or cake stand for a show-stopping centerpiece that guests can grab as they mingle.

  • Mix and match: Make a few different versions — some with extra fruit, some with more savory bites — so everyone gets a surprise.

  • Mini grazing stations: Scatter the cups around the room instead of one big board. It keeps traffic flowing and makes snacking feel more natural during parties.

  • Holiday brunches: These work just as well for daytime gatherings — pair them with mimosas, hot cocoa, or coffee for a festive breakfast spread.
