Crockpot Honey Chipotle Chicken Wings
Nothing makes feeding a crowd easier than a good crockpot recipe, and these honey chipotle chicken wings are exactly what you need if you’re hosting a party, game day, or you’re just in the mood for wings for dinner tonight!
They’re sticky, sweet, and just spicy enough to keep things interesting. The honey brings richness and shine, the chipotle adds a gorgeous smoky heat, and the wings turn out incredibly tender from the slow cooker before getting that caramelized finish with a quick broil towards the end. These are such a crowd favorite, and I think you’re going to love them!

Ingredients
There’s a printable recipe card at the bottom of this post, complete with ingredients, measurements, and instructions. Don’t skip the coming sections though, as I’m sharing more about the recipe and extra tips to help you create the best results first time!
-
Chicken wings: A 3-pound pack is perfect for feeding a crowd. Pat them dry before adding to the slow cooker so the sauce clings better.
-
Ketchup: Forms the base of the sauce, adding body and a little tang that balances the honey.
-
Honey: Brings that sticky sweetness and helps the wings caramelize under the broiler.
-
Chilies in adobo (sauce only): Adds smoky heat without overwhelming the wings. Using just the sauce keeps things smooth and balanced.
-
Apple cider vinegar: Cuts through the sweetness and keeps the sauce from feeling too heavy.
-
Salt & pepper: Simple seasoning that helps the sauce taste bold instead of flat.
-
Onion powder & garlic powder: Add savory depth and round out the sweet-heat flavor profile.

How To Make Crockpot Honey Chipotle Chicken Wings
-
Add the chicken wings to your slow cooker. In a small bowl, stir together the ketchup, honey, adobo sauce, apple cider vinegar, and seasonings.

-
Pour half of the sauce over the wings and toss to coat. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours.

- Once cooked, transfer the wings to a foil-lined baking sheet and brush with the remaining sauce. Broil for 3–4 minutes, until sticky and slightly caramelized.

-
Sprinkle with parsley if desired, then serve warm and enjoy.

Storage & Reheating
Store leftover wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2–3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer until warmed through to help keep the skin from getting soggy.

Recipe Notes
-
You can baste the wings a second time halfway through broiling for extra sticky, caramelized sauce.
-
The wings may be ready a little before the full 4 hours. Once they’re very tender and starting to fall apart, they’re done!
-
If you prefer, you can cook the wings on low for about 6 hours instead of high.
-
If you want to skip the broiler, drain the liquid from the slow cooker and toss the wings directly in the remaining sauce before serving.

Serving Ideas
These wings are made for sharing! Serve them hot with plenty of napkins as a game day appetizer, party snack, or casual dinner centerpiece. They’re great alongside classic sides like celery sticks, carrot sticks, and a cooling dip like ranch or blue cheese. For a bigger spread, pair them with chips, sliders, or other finger foods and let people graze. They also work really well as a fun dinner option with a simple salad on the side.
