It’s soup season! When the days get colder and you need an easy family dinner that you can get on the table with the least possible amount of fuss, you really can’t beat hearty and comforting crockpot soup recipes. I’ve created this collection of my favorite recipes, and this is why I think you’ll love them:
- They’re so easy! I work from home, and so mid morning I’ll often pop into the kitchen and put all the ingredients into my crockpot. By dinnertime, the house smells delicious and I’ve got a cozy meal that’s ready to be dished up
- There’s plenty of healthy options that are loaded with goodness and colorful veggies. Always a weight off your mind when you’re feeding a family!
- If you make a batch, you have meals ready for the coming weeks and days. I’ve tried freezing most of these recipes with great success. Just remember to leave off any garnishes like fresh herbs or sour cream, and add them once the soup has been reheated

- 3 carrots, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 6–8 cups chicken broth
- ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon each of dried rosemary, thyme, and dried sage
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 small bay leaves
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
Instructions:

Add the cooked chicken, celery, carrots, onions, and garlic to your crockpot.

Pour in the chicken broth, then stir in the Worcestershire sauce, dried herbs, salt, pepper, and bay leaves.

Cover and cook on low for 5–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until the veggies are tender and the flavors have come together.

Be aware that if you’re using dried beans then you’ll need to soak them overnight, so take that in account when you’re planning your meals! If I have leftover tinned corn then I’ll often add this to bulk out the soup a little further and cut down on waste, though that is of course totally optional.
