How many calories are in this recipe?

There’s approximately 60 calories in each fritter.

But what exactly does that mean, in practical terms?

Well, the average man needs to consume around 2,500 calories a day to maintain a healthy body weight.

For the average woman, it’s around 2,000 calories a day.

If your goal is to drop some pounds, then obviously you’ll want to consume less than this to ensure that you’re in a calorie deficit and help you to achieve that weight loss that you’re hoping for.

How many Slimming World Syns are in this recipe?

Syns are trademarked by Slimming World, and values are currently only available to current paying members.

Because of this, I’ve decided to omit Syn values from my recipes moving forward.

Rest assured though, the recipes here will always be made to be as slimming friendly as possible.

Remember too that changes are often made to Syn values for various foods, so when you’re making recipes online, it’s always checking that the values are accurate and up to date. This will give you peace of mind and help you to protect your weight loss.

Refer to the official Slimming World app to calculate the Syns, or speak with your consultant for further guidance and advice.

What about Weight Watchers Points?

  • There’s 1.5 Points per fritter on WW Blue
  • There’s 1.5 Points per fritter on WW Green
  • There’s 1.5 Points per fritter on WW Purple

How to serve your fiery Babybel fritters

There aren’t any rules when it comes to eating these, so feel free to enjoy them however you fancy.

Here are a couple of ideas that you might want to try though…

  • Add a side of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce for dipping – be warned, it’s HOT, but it’s my all-time favourite condiment and a must-try if you like your food with a real kick
  • Serve these for lunch alongside a big salad, packed full of speed foods
  • Whip up a batch for your next fakeaway night – they’re a great slimming friendly alternative to mozzarella dippers!
  • Make them as nibbles next time you have friends over – they’re much more satisfying than a handful of crisps

Extra tips and advice for making this recipe

This is one of the quickest and easiest recipes you’ll ever make, and you’ll be pleased to know that you can’t really go wrong.

It’s a good idea though to use a muffin tray when you’re baking your fritters in the oven, instead of a traditional baking tray.

This will help them to retain their shape, and prevent them from melting into misshapen puddles.

If you’re not too fussed about presentation though and you just want that lovely cheesy, fiery taste, use any baking tray that you might have in your kitchen cupboard.

You’ll notice that I’ve used panko breadcrumbs in this recipe, and that’s mainly because they’re my favourite. They’re chunky and extra crunchy, and as we’re using just a small amount, they won’t cost you too much in terms of calories or Syns.

If you’d rather though, you can make your own from any healthy bread allowances that you might have on your plan.

As well, don’t be scared to get a little creative with your seasoning.

I’ve used paprika and chilli flakes here, but there are pretty much limitless options.

You could use more or less spices to increase or decrease the intensity.

You could replace my choices for Italian herbs.

You could use a little curry powder and garam masala to give them an Indian flavour.

Work your way through the options, and decide which one is your favourite!
