How many calories are in these fishcakes?

There are approximately 257 calories per serving, which is two fishcakes.

The average man needs to consume around 2,500 calories a day to maintain a healthy body weight.

For the average woman, it’s around 2,000 calories a day.

If you’re aiming to lose weight, you’ll want to consume less than this to ensure that you’re in a calorie deficit and help you to reach your goals!

How many Slimming World Syns are in this recipe?

Syns are trademarked by Slimming World, and values are only available to current paying members.

As such, I have decided to omit Syn values from my recipes moving forward.

Rest assured though, the recipes here will always be made to be as slimming friendly as possible.

Slimming World Fishcakes

These tuna and sweetcorn fishcakes are quick and easy to make, and are perfect if you're on a budget! Serve for lunch with a leafy green salad.

Course: Main Course
Cuisine: British
Servings: 2
Calories: 257kcal

  • 1 tin tuna in brine, drained
  • 1 tin sweetcorn drained
  • 1 large potato peeled
  • 1 tsp dried mixed herbs
  • 40 grams panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2 spring onions chopped
  • Low calorie cooking spray
  • Freshly ground black pepper

  • Preheat your oven to 160 degrees.
  • Boil or steam the potato, and once cooked, roughly mash.
  • Add the mashed potato to a large bowl with the tuna, sweetcorn, herbs, spring onions, and a few grinds of black pepper. Use a fork to combine all the ingredients well.
  • Use your hands to form patties from the mixture. I like to make 4 small fishcakes, and serve 2 per person.
  • Dip the patties in the beaten egg, and then dip in the breadcrumbs so they're covered well.
  • Place on a baking tray, and spritz with low calorie cooking spray. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes, or until golden and piping hot throughout.
  • Serve and enjoy!

If you're serious about sticking rigidly to your plan, it's always worth doing your own calculations for extra peace of mind - and remember, we may be using different brands or variations of ingredients which can significantly impact the nutritional and Syn values!
