Viral Chocolate Banana Bark (4 Ingredients!)
Today we’re going to be creating our very own version of the TikTok viral chocolate banana bark, and if you love a healthier snack that’s really easy to prep, you’re going to be obsessed with this one! These are my favorite treats to make right now because they’re so quick and easy, and there’s no baking required – it’s just a case of layering up banana, peanut butter, and good quality chocolate, sprinkling it with a little sea salt, and giving it a blast in the freezer so it’s satisfyingly snappable, and then we’re good to go. They’re perfect for kids, for a post-workout treat, or for a little afternoon pick-me-up. Let’s make them together!
Ingredients
- Bananas
- Dark chocolate chips: The brand and quality of chocolate definitely determines the overall flavor of this treat – I use and highly recommend Ghirardelli!
- Creamy peanut butter
- Coarse sea salt
You’ll also a need an 11×15-inch baking sheet, parchment paper, a 2-cup pourable measuring cup, and a rubber spatula!
Step-by-Step Instructions
I know that many of you prefer a printable recipe card for screen-free prep, and that’s exactly why I’ve included one for you towards the bottom of this post. It includes ingredients, measurements, and instructions, and it’s super handy for printing out and keeping in your own personal recipe folder – especially when you want to make this one again, which I think you will!
-
Line an 11×15-inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Slice all three bananas into rounds, about ½ inch thick.
-
Arrange the banana slices on the parchment-lined baking sheet in a rectangle, leaving some space around the edges of the pan. It doesn’t need to be perfect—just make sure the slices are touching one another.
-
Once the bananas are arranged to your liking, place the peanut butter in a microwave-safe measuring cup with a spout. Microwave on high for 40 seconds, pausing halfway through at 20 seconds to give it a stir.
-
Carefully drizzle the melted peanut butter over the banana slices, focusing on the center and avoiding the edges. Use a rubber spatula to gently spread the peanut butter evenly across the bananas.
-
Transfer the sheet pan to the freezer and chill for about 30 minutes.
-
Just before removing the pan from the freezer, place the chocolate chips in a clean, microwave-safe measuring cup. Microwave on high for 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
-
Take the pan out of the freezer and pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter and bananas. Again, aim for the center to avoid overflow.
-
Use a clean rubber spatula to gently spread the chocolate in an even layer over the surface.
-
Once the chocolate is smoothed out, sprinkle sea salt over the top. Return the pan to the freezer for another 20–30 minutes, or until the bark has fully set.
-
Break into pieces and enjoy!
Hints & Tips
-
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week, or in the freezer for up to 3 months. I don’t recommend leaving them out at room temperature for too long — the bananas can get a little strange in texture.
-
Don’t love sea salt? No problem! Try topping with sprinkles, chopped nuts, dried fruit, or whatever you like best.
-
Feel free to swap the dark chocolate for your favorite variety — white chocolate, milk chocolate, or even a flavored one. It’s all about what you enjoy!
