Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Truffles
I absolutely love just how nostalgic Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes are, and when I saw that they were going viral in truffle form over on TikTok, I knew that I had to recreate them! So today we’re turning everyone’s favorite holiday snack cake into a bite-sized, no-bake dessert that’s creamy, festive, and completely irresistible.
They’re made by mixing crumbled snack cakes with cream cheese, rolling them into balls, and dipping them in smooth white chocolate before decorating with those classic red stripes and green sprinkles. It’s everything you love about the original, just a little fancier and a whole lot of fun to make. Let me show you how to make them – they take just 20 minutes of prep, followed by a few hours of chill time!

-
Christmas Tree Snack Cakes – of course! These nostalgic treats give the truffles that soft, sweet, vanilla cake base and all the Little Debbie magic.
-
Cream cheese – makes everything rich, smooth, and truffle-like. It binds the crumbled cakes together into that perfect scoopable texture.
-
White chocolate chips – for dipping! They create a creamy, sweet coating that mimics the outer layer of the classic Christmas Tree Cakes.
-
Red cookie icing – make sure to use the kind that hardens (not gel!) so you can draw those iconic zigzag stripes.
-
Green sanding sugar – adds sparkle and that signature Christmas Tree Cake look.

How To Make Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Truffles
- Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper and set it aside.
- Crumble the Christmas Tree Cakes into a large mixing bowl. Cut the cream cheese into chunks and toss them right in.

- Using a hand mixer, blend everything together until you’ve got a thick, dough-like mixture that smells like pure holiday magic.
- Grab a 1½-inch cookie scoop and roll the mixture into balls. Place them on your prepared baking sheet as you go.

- Once all the truffles are rolled, pop the tray in the freezer for about an hour to firm them up.
- Melt your white chocolate chips in the microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring well each time until smooth and glossy.
- Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate, letting the extra drip back into the bowl, then place them back on the parchment.

- While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with sanding sugar for that classic sparkle.

- Once all the truffles are coated and sprinkled, use cookie icing to draw those signature red zigzag lines — just like the original Christmas Tree Cakes.

- Chill the truffles in the fridge for another hour to set. Once firm, break off any extra chocolate or icing around the edges and get ready to enjoy the cutest, most nostalgic little holiday treats ever!

Storage
Keep your Christmas tree truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days — if they last that long!
Recipe Notes
-
Be sure to use cookie icing, not gel icing. It hardens as it sets, giving you those perfect red stripes.
-
If your melted white chocolate starts to thicken as you work, just pop it back in the microwave for 10–15 seconds to smooth it out again.
-
Want an even cleaner look? Stick a toothpick in the top of each truffle for dipping, then remove it before decorating.
-
These make adorable edible gifts. Just pop a few in a holiday tin or wrap them in cellophane with a ribbon. Instant Christmas cheer!

Variations
-
Chocolate version: Use the Chocolate Christmas Tree Cakes and dip in milk or dark chocolate for a richer twist.
-
Peppermint truffles: Add a drop of peppermint extract to the filling and sprinkle crushed candy canes on top instead of sanding sugar.
-
Mini bites: Roll smaller truffles and serve them on a holiday dessert board — they look adorable and disappear fast!
Serving & Gifting Tips
-
Serve these truffles chilled or slightly cool. The texture is creamy on the inside with that perfect chocolate snap on the outside.
-
Arrange them on a holiday platter with extra green sanding sugar or crushed candy canes sprinkled around for an easy, festive display.
-
For gifting, place a few truffles in mini cupcake liners and tuck them into a cookie tin, mason jar, or clear cellophane bag tied with a ribbon. They make the cutest homemade gifts!
-
Hosting a party? Add them to your Christmas dessert board alongside fudge, cookies, and peppermint bark. They’ll steal the show!
