11 Easy & Healthy Breakfast Smoothie Recipes!

If you love an easy grab-and-go breakfast that’s packed full of nutrients and goodness, it’s hard to beat a smoothie! Simple to prepare, flavorsome, creamy, and super satisfying, they’re a staple in my household and I find that they’re also a really convenient way to get some extra vitamins into everyone’s diet. 

In this collection of smoothie recipes, I’m sharing some of my favorite flavor combinations that I think you’ll love trying at home. 

Before we jump into the recipes, here’s what you need to know to help you to create the best results every time: 

  • I use dairy milk, but you can easily substitute for your plant-based milk of choice if you prefer 
  • I use Greek yogurt as it’s easily available, and naturally high in protein. Again, you can substitute for a plant-based option 
  • Frozen fruit is a game changer and means you can always have smoothies on your menu, even when you don’t have time to visit the store! I especially love using frozen bananas, as they add a wonderful creaminess to your drinks 
  • Leftovers don’t tend to keep particularly well in the fridge, but you can freeze them! A savvy hack for cutting down on waste is to pour leftover smoothie into an ice cube tray or a freezer bag. You can then add these straight to the blender the next time you fancy a smoothie – you’ll likely need to add some extra milk or water to loosen it up a little 
  • Don’t forget that you can customize these recipes to add some extra goodness. I like adding chia seeds, hemp seeds, protein powders, and even rolled oats, to help me to meet my nutritional goals
  • If you find that your smoothie is too thick (this can often be down to the brand of yogurt you use and how thick it is), just add some extra milk or water and blend again 

1. Strawberry Banana Smoothie

This classic Strawberry Banana Smoothie is a favorite for a reason! It’s fruity, creamy, and just sweet enough to taste like a treat, yet packed with nutrients.

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup milk of choice
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 banana, fresh or frozen
  • Optional: 1 tsp honey for extra sweetness

Instructions:

  1. Add milk, Greek yogurt, frozen strawberries, and banana to the blender.
  2. Blend until smooth. If you want it sweeter, add honey and blend again.
  3. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately!

2. Blueberry Smoothie

Antioxidant-packed and deliciously purple, this Blueberry Smoothie is a refreshing blend that’s as beautiful as it is tasty. This one’s a staple in my household, and it’s also delicious served in a bowl topped with extra fresh fruits and crunchy nuts and seeds. 

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup milk of choice
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 tsp chia seeds (optional, for extra nutrients)

Instructions:

  1. Add milk, Greek yogurt, frozen blueberries, and chia seeds to the blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy. Add a splash more milk if it’s too thick.
  3. Pour into a glass and enjoy this vibrant beauty!

3. Piña Colada Smoothie

Dreaming of a tropical getaway? This Piña Colada Smoothie brings the beach to your blender with a delicious mix of pineapple and coconut flavors. A fantastic choice for summer days when you want something healthy that feels like a treat. 

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1 tbsp shredded coconut

Instructions:

  1. Combine coconut milk, Greek yogurt, frozen pineapple, and shredded coconut in the blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust with more coconut milk if needed.
  3. Pour, sip, and let the tropical vibes take over!

4. Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

  • 1/2 cup milk of choice
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 banana, fresh or frozen
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • Optional: 1 tsp honey for added sweetness

Instructions:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup milk of choice
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 apple, chopped
  • 1/2 banana, fresh or frozen
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • Optional: 1 tsp maple syrup

Instructions:

  1. Blend milk, Greek yogurt, apple, banana, and cinnamon until smooth.
  2. Add maple syrup if you’d like it a touch sweeter.
  3. Pour into a glass and sprinkle a little extra cinnamon on top.

Who says you can’t have chocolate for breakfast? This Chocolate Smoothie is rich, satisfying, and will make you feel like you’re indulging—minus the guilt.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup milk of choice
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 banana, fresh or frozen
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • Optional: 1 tsp honey or maple syrup

Instructions:

  1. Add milk, Greek yogurt, banana, and cocoa powder to the blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy. Sweeten with honey or maple syrup if desired.
  3. Serve immediately and enjoy a chocolatey start to your day!

7. Coffee Smoothie

  • 1/4 cup milk of choice
  • 1/4 cup cold brewed coffee
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 banana, fresh or frozen
  • Optional: 1 tsp honey
  • Coffee beans, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Combine milk, cold coffee, Greek yogurt, and banana in the blender.
  2. Blend until smooth. Add honey for a touch of sweetness, and garnish with coffee beans, if you like.

11. Banana Matcha Smoothie

For an energizing boost, this Banana Matcha Smoothie is a great choice. Matcha and banana pair beautifully in this creamy, slightly earthy smoothie. If you’re not familiar with matcha, it’s a Japanese green tea powder that’s regarded as an antioxidant powerhouse. You can pick it up in many grocery stores these days, and it can be used in everything from smoothies to lattes to baking recipes.

  • 1/2 cup milk of choice
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 banana, fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 tsp matcha powder
  • Optional: 1 tsp honey
