S’mores Pretzel Rods
I’ve got a brand new sweet treat for you that’s cozy, nostalgic, and also ridiculously easy to make! Picture this: crisp pretzel rods dipped in melty milk chocolate, rolled in graham cracker crumbs, and topped with gooey marshmallows. Basically, all the best parts of a campfire s’more… minus the smoke and the need to find sticks in the dark.
They’re perfect for cozy fall nights, winter movie marathons, and holiday snack trays. You don’t need a baking degree (or even an oven), and they’re totally customizable — sprinkle, drizzle, toast, repeat. They’re sweet. They’re salty. They look like you put in way more effort than you actually did. That’s a win. Let’s get straight down to making them together!

Ingredients
Please note that you’ll find your printable recipe card at the bottom of this post!
-
Jumbo pretzel rods: Go for the thick, sturdy kind — they hold up better to all the dipping and topping. Plus, more surface area = more s’mores goodness.
-
Melting milk chocolate: I like to use chocolate melting bars (like Ghirardelli) since they melt smoothly and set up nice and firm. You can also use chocolate chips in a pinch — just add a little oil to help with consistency.
-
Crushed graham crackers: Crush them finely so they stick well to the chocolate — but don’t worry about perfection.
-
Mini marshmallows: These get pressed right into the melty chocolate for that classic gooey s’mores vibe. Optional: toast them for extra flavor and fun.
-
Optional: flaky salt: Just a sprinkle adds a little grown-up contrast to all the sweetness. Totally optional, but highly recommended if you like that sweet + salty combo.
How To Make S’mores Pretzel Rods
-
Prep your setup: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lay out the pretzel rods so they’re ready to go. This makes cleanup a breeze and keeps the chocolate from sticking.
-
Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt about ¾ of the chocolate in 20–30 second bursts, stirring in between, until smooth and glossy.
-
Roll the pretzels: Pour the melted chocolate onto a sheet of parchment paper (yep, this trick makes coating so much easier). Working one pretzel rod at a time, roll it through the chocolate until it’s nicely coated.
-
Add the s’mores magic: Right away, sprinkle crushed graham crackers over the chocolate and gently press mini marshmallows onto the coated part. Don’t wait too long — the chocolate needs to be melty for everything to stick!
-
Set the rods: Place each finished rod back onto the baking sheet and let them sit at room temp until the chocolate hardens.
-
Toast and drizzle (optional but fun!): If you’ve got a kitchen torch, lightly toast the marshmallows for that classic campfire flavor. Then melt the remaining chocolate and drizzle it over the top. Want to really level it up? Add a pinch of flaky salt while the drizzle is still wet.
-
Let them set completely: Once everything is set and the chocolate is firm, they’re ready to serve, share, or sneak straight off the tray.
Storage Tips
Once the chocolate has fully set, store the pretzel rods in an airtight container at room temperature. They’ll stay fresh and crunchy for up to 1 week — just keep them in a cool, dry spot so the chocolate doesn’t melt or get sticky. If you’re gifting them or bringing them to a party, wrap each one in a treat bag or layer them between sheets of parchment paper to keep them looking their best. No need to refrigerate — they actually hold up better at room temp!
Variations
You can easily switch things up to fit your taste or whatever you’ve got on hand. Try using dark chocolate or white chocolate instead of milk chocolate for a different flavor spin. Want more texture? Add crushed peanuts, toffee bits, or mini M&M’s on top of the chocolate along with the graham crackers. For a fun holiday twist, swap the graham crackers for crushed candy canes in winter or add festive sprinkles for Halloween or birthdays. Not a fan of marshmallows? You can leave them off and still have a sweet-and-salty treat that’s totally addictive. And if you’re making these with kids, let them decorate their own — it gets messy, but in the best way.
Serving Ideas
These s’mores pretzel rods are perfect for just about any occasion — from party trays and movie nights to bake sales or edible gifting. Arrange them in a mason jar or tall glass for a fun display on your dessert table, or wrap each rod in a clear treat bag tied with ribbon for an easy party favor or holiday gift. They also make a cute addition to a fall or campfire-themed dessert spread — think cozy nights in, Halloween parties, or even a no-bake addition to your Christmas cookie tray. They travel well, look super cute, and you don’t need a campfire to enjoy them!
