2-Ingredient Air Fryer Banana Donut Holes
Say hello to the two-ingredient air fryer treat everyone’s talking about! These banana donut holes are all over TikTok right now, and it’s a viral recipe that’s definitely worth trying if you love a sweet snack or you just want a quick dessert that involves very little effort.
They’re soft and warm on the inside, with just the right amount of crisp on the outside. You can enjoy them plain straight from the basket (no judgment from me), or dress them up with a quick cinnamon sugar coating or my simple banana glaze if you’re feeling a bit fancy. My little girl absolutely loved these, especially since they were so easy that she could help to prep them! Give them a try and let me know what you think.

How To Make Banana Donut Holes In Your Air Fryer: Step-by-Step Instructions (With Photos!)
Want to jump straight to the recipe? You’ll find a printable recipe card at the bottom of this post. But if you prefer to follow along with step-by-step photos, I’ve broken it all down for you right here.
- Peel the banana and add it to a medium mixing bowl. Mash it really well with a fork until smooth—no big chunks.

- Add in the pancake mix and stir until it starts forming clumps.
- Grease your hands (or gloves if you prefer) with a bit of nonstick spray, then knead the dough together by hand. It’ll feel a little sticky, and that’s totally fine—just don’t overwork it. You want it just mixed enough to come together.
- Roll the dough into tablespoon-sized balls, about 1 inch each, and keep your hands greased as you go to prevent sticking.

- Spray your air fryer basket with nonstick spray, then place the donut holes in, leaving about an inch of space between them so they’ve got room to puff up. I usually do about 6 at a time in a small air fryer.

- Air fry at 350°F/175°C for 7 minutes. Once they’re golden and puffed, take them out carefully and repeat with the remaining dough.
- Coat them in one of the toppings below—or eat them warm and plain if you’re impatient like me.
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
- In a small bowl, stir together ¼ cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
- Spray the warm donut holes with nonstick spray (this helps the sugar stick), then roll them in the cinnamon sugar. I do a couple at a time—easier to handle that way.

Banana Glaze
- Mash a small banana in a bowl until smooth.
Add powdered sugar and stir until you get a pourable glaze. - Drop the donut holes in, toss to coat, then lift them out with a fork and set them on parchment or a plate to set.

Recipe Notes & Tips
-
These donut holes are best enjoyed fresh out of the air fryer when they’re warm and fluffy inside. If you’re planning to store them, skip the banana glaze—it’ll make them sticky and soggy over time. Uncoated donut holes can be stored in an airtight container at room temp for up to 4 days.
-
The outside will naturally have a slightly firm texture—that’s totally normal! If you want a little extra sweetness or depth of flavor, feel free to mix in a dash of vanilla extract and a spoonful of sugar before forming the dough.
-
Size matters! If you make the dough balls smaller or larger than 1 tablespoon, you’ll need to tweak the air frying time a bit. Just keep an eye on them and adjust as needed.
-
If they come out dense, that’s usually a sign of too much pancake mix. Next time, try using a bit more banana or a little less mix to get the balance right.

Serving Ideas
-
Classic snack – Serve them warm in a bowl with toothpicks for a cozy, grab-and-go treat.
-
Brunch board addition – Add them to a weekend brunch spread alongside fruit, yogurt, and coffee for a sweet bite-sized option.
-
Dessert twist – Pair with a small dish of vanilla Greek yogurt or whipped cream for dipping.
-
Mini sundae topper – Toss a few on top of a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce.
-
Lunchbox treat – Skip the glaze and pop a few plain ones into lunchboxes for an easy, no-mess sweet snack.
