If you love a sweet and indulgent breakfast, but still want to stay on plan, then you absolutely have to try this Slimming World French toast recipe!
This chocolate and banana version is every bit as good as anything you might be served up in a fancy cafe, and even the fussiest of eaters in your family are sure to be asking for it again in the very near future.
For the full ingredients list and detailed instructions, see the recipe card at the end of this post. Make sure you check out this important information first though…
There are 361 calories per serving in this Slimming World French toast.
For reference, an average man needs to consume around 2,500 calories a day to maintain a healthy body weight. For an average woman, it’s around 2,000 calories a day.
Of course, if you’re aiming to lose weight, you’ll want to consume less than this to reach your goals!

If you’re happy to use your Healthy Extra B, then the only Syns you need to count when you’re making this recipe are those in The Skinny Sauce Co’s Chocaholic spread.
At the time of writing this, I wasn’t able to find the exact San value for this item, though based on the nutritional profile and similar products, I estimate that there’s less than 3 Syns per serving.
To be on the safe side, I’d personally count 3 Syns per serving of this chocolate and banana French toast!
To be honest, when I first discovered this product, I was pretty convinced that it was going to turn out to be one of those things that are just too good to be true.
You just have to take a quick look at the label to see that compared to most chocolate spreads, it’s so much lighter in terms of calories and sugar.
Honestly though, it’s proven to be one of my favourite slimming friendly finds of the year so far.
It’s silky, smooth, and has all the deliciously nutty chocolate flavour of its popular supermarket rivals.
It tastes EXACTLY like Nutella – I really don’t think you’d be able to tell the difference in a taste test – and for that reason, it’s now one of my kitchen cupboard staples for baking or just spreading straight on to toast.
Of course, if you don’t want to make the purchase, you can use any chocolate spread for this recipe, but do remember that you’ll be increasing the calorie and Syn content.
These Slimming World French pancakes are perfect for a lazy weekend breakfast, but you can serve them at any time of the day, and they’d even make a really great dessert.
I like adding a little dollop of plain quark, and any fruit that I might already have at home.
Got a sweet tooth?
I’ve got you covered!
My slimming friendly jam sponge puddings are super quick and easy to make, and are another great choice for breakfast or dessert.
