Crockpot Sweet & Spicy Kielbasa Bites
An easy crockpot appetizer for game days, parties, and potlucks! These sweet and spicy kielbasa bites are loaded with the most deliciously sticky sauce, and they’re a real crowd pleaser that are super easy to prep. They also work really well as a simple family dinner served over rice.
If you’ve loved my other slow cooker party options like my pizza dip, root beer meatballs, and honey chipotle chicken wings, these are the next ones to try!

Using Your Crockpot for Party Appetizers
I created this recipe with parties in mind, and my slow cooker is definitely my favorite hack for making hosting so much easier! I’ve got tons of different options for crockpot party appetizers, and here are a few simple rules I’ve learned along the way…
- Keep it on warm: Once the kielbasa is done cooking, switch your crockpot to the “warm” setting so it stays hot without overcooking.
- Stir occasionally: Give it a quick stir every now and then to keep the sauce smooth and evenly coating everything.
- Serve straight from the crockpot: You can leave it right in the slow cooker and let guests help themselves, or transfer it to a serving bowl if you prefer.
- Use toothpicks for easy serving: Makes it simple for guests to grab and go. No plates needed.
- Plan for refills: This is one of those appetizers that goes fast, so you might want to make a double batch if you’re feeding a crowd.

Ingredients
Note: You’ll find the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post!
- Kielbasa sausage: Pre-cooked kielbasa works best here. Just slice it into bite-sized pieces and it’s ready to go.
- Honey: Adds a natural sweetness that balances out the spice.
- Ketchup: Brings a tangy, slightly sweet base to the sauce.
- Brown sugar: Helps create that rich, sticky glaze as everything cooks.
- Dijon mustard: Adds a little tang and depth without overpowering the sauce.
- Paprika: Gives a subtle smoky flavor and a nice color.
- Garlic powder: Adds an easy layer of savory flavor.
- Cayenne pepper: This is where the heat comes from—adjust to your spice preference if needed.
- Apple cider vinegar: Balances out the sweetness and keeps the sauce from feeling too heavy.

How To Make Crockpot Sweet & Spicy Kielbasa Bites
- In a medium bowl, stir together the honey, ketchup, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, seasonings, and apple cider vinegar until well combined. Slice the kielbasa into 1-inch pieces.

- Add the sliced kielbasa to your slow cooker, then pour the sauce over the top. Stir until everything is evenly coated.

- Cover and cook on low for 3–4 hours, giving it a stir every now and then.
- Transfer to a serving bowl, sprinkle with parsley if you like, and serve with toothpicks as an easy appetizer, or spoon it over rice for a simple dinner.

Storage & Reheating
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2–3 days.
To reheat, warm them on the stovetop over medium heat or in the microwave until heated through, stirring occasionally so the sauce stays smooth and evenly coated.

Recipe Notes & Extra Tips for Success
- Give everything a stir every so often while it cooks to keep the sauce from sticking and to help it thicken up.
- If the sauce isn’t thick enough, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water, then stir it into the slow cooker and let it cook a little longer.
- Adjust the spice level to your liking – use less cayenne for a milder version or add more if you want extra heat.
- Slice the kielbasa into even pieces so everything cooks evenly and heats through at the same time.
- The sauce will thicken more as it sits, especially once it starts to cool slightly.
- For the best flavor, let it cook the full time so the sauce has a chance to really soak into the sausage.
Serving Ideas
These are perfect for parties! Just set them out with toothpicks and watch them disappear. They’re great for game day, holidays, or any kind of casual get-together where you want something easy and crowd-pleasing.
They also double as a super simple dinner. Spoon them over rice to turn them into a sweet and spicy meal that comes together with almost no extra effort.
